LONDON AND CHICAGO – 26-June-2018. Today Intelligent Editing, the leading provider of software for professional editors, announced the release of PerfectIt Cloud and the rollout of its new website. These two releases are part of an overall strategy to move further into the legal industry. From today, the tedious task of proofreading legal documents can be automated on any device, including Macs and iPads.
PerfectIt is a proofreading and editing add-in for MS Word that checks for errors using familiar spell-check-like functionality and informative commentary. It works with US and all international types of English, and can be customized to fit house style. It delivers faster, more accurate proofreading and editing for professionals, ranging from copy editors and consultants to lawyers and scientists.
American Legal Style is the legal-specific stylesheet that builds on PerfectIt’s basic checks and adds 13,000 corrections that only a trained legal writer or editor would know to look for. It checks everything from consistent capitalization of defined terms and use of acronyms, to legal-specific typos and transposed letters in terms of art. It will also find formatting, spacing, spelling, and capitalization errors in Bluebook citations.
PerfectIt Cloud is one of the first proofreading tools available via Microsoft’s Office Store. Now users can have the same experience using PerfectIt Cloud on any Office 365 device, whether working on Mac, PC, iPad, or MS Word Online.
The release of PerfectIt Cloud is a response to over 700 Mac users requesting a compatible version of PerfectIt. “Customers have been asking for a Mac version since 2009. We’re delighted to finally deliver PerfectIt Cloud,” said Daniel Heuman, CEO and Founder of Intelligent Editing.
PerfectIt has more than 100 online reviews and a five star rating in the Microsoft Office Store.
The new website makes it easier to see how PerfectIt fits within legal document creation workflows. The PerfectIt website now shows legal-specific features, case studies, and reviews. It also makes it easier to find legal-specific content crafted by Ivy B. Grey, the lawyer collaborating with Intelligent Editing to create and promote PerfectIt.

With the website redesign, Intelligent Editing also re-engineered the purchasing process. An individual license sells for $70 USD per user per year. Enterprise licensing starts at $2450 USD per year which works out to less than $25 per seat, includes a custom-built keyless installer, and is designed for Citrix and other managed IT environments.
PerfectIt is gaining market share in the legal community with more than 300 law firms using American Legal Style. Intelligent Editing is committed to growing its presence in the legal field and hopes that legal users will someday match the more than 6,000 users in 72 countries that currently use PerfectIt.
