Should I get the subscription or one-time purchase version of MS Office?

The branding of MS Office can be confusing. But if you have a choice between Office 365 (the subscription) and a standalone version, we recommend the subscription. That's because:

• The monthly cost means it's inexpensive if you change your mind.
• It may not be long before a new major version of Office is released, so there is a risk you'd buy twice.
• Microsoft are constantly adding new features to Office that will increase the functionality that PerfectIt can offer (e.g. we're hoping that Microsoft will make footnote checking possible in future). We have no control over when they will make those changes. But if you have the subscription version, you will have access to them as soon as they are included.
