If Word crashes for any reason then add-ins are often disabled. You can easily re-enable them. The method depends on which version of Word you are running:
Word 2007/10/13/16/19
Click the 'File' tab. Then choose 'Options'. Then choose 'Add-Ins' from the left-hand side. You should see a list of all add-ins and PerfectIt should be there among the disabled items. Find the drop-down menu that says 'Manage COM Add-ins'. Click that drop-down and choose 'Disabled Items' from the drop-down list. Then press 'Go…'. If PerfectIt is in the dialog that appears, click it and then click the 'Enable' button. That will restore the icon (you may need to restart Word).
Word 2000/XP/03
Click on the 'Help' menu in MS Word. Click on 'About Microsoft Office Word'. In the lower right-hand corner, click on the 'Disabled items' button. If PerfectIt is in the list, then click on it and then click on 'Enable'.
